The Instructor
A small village. An i3 laptop. And 3ds Max.
I picked up 3ds Max one year before graduating because I could not afford a 3D artist for my final project — a large urban design development. I had to learn it myself.
Right after graduation in 2016, a local firm in Algeria hired me for a full archviz project. The price was low. But it told me something important: this was a skill most architects did not have.
I went fully freelance. I launched ZKArchitects. I landed my first Upwork client in the GCC — small budget, but it was confirmation that the dream was possible. The contracts grew. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Canada, Pakistan.
I woke up one morning in Kuala Lumpur — a city I had only ever seen on Instagram — and looked out at the towers. As an architect who builds 3D worlds for a living, that moment hit differently.
"I started ZKAcademy because I believe my story deserves to be shared. A young guy from a small village in Algeria, weak internet, an i3 laptop — who built the life he wanted. If that story can push someone forward, it is worth telling."
