Welcome to today's blog post, where we’ll dive into the process of creating a custom laundry cabinet and a decorative cabinet that complements your dining room, using Coohom. These designs not only enhance the functionality of your space but also add a modern, stylish touch to your home. This tutorial will walk you through key steps and provide useful tips for interior designers, students, and professionals who want to elevate their projects.

Functional Layout for a Laundry Space

In any laundry room, functionality is key. The custom laundry cabinet design includes two main sections: one for housing your washer and dryer and the other for closet storage. This split design ensures that your laundry area remains organized and clutter-free.

Tip: Make sure to include a sliding door feature for convenience. Sliding doors save space and give your laundry area a sleek, modern appearance. In this design, the sliding door will also help conceal the laundry appliances, making the entry to your house look much cleaner.

How to Add a Sliding Door

In Coohom, follow these steps to design your laundry cabinet with a sliding door:

  1. Go to Advanced ToolsClosetCabinets for Sliding Doors.

  2. Select the multi-row option and adjust its size to fit your space.

  3. In 3D mode, check your layout and adjust the height of the cabinet to 2 meters from the right bar.
  4. Add hinged upper cabinets for extra storage, ensuring their placement is both practical and visually aligned with your laundry room setup.

Pro Tip: Always place the washer and dryer in a way that they are easily accessible but discreetly hidden. You can further customize the track and door style to match the modern aesthetic you want to achieve.

Final Touches: Materials & Finishes

To bring everything together, consistency in finishes and materials is crucial. For the upper cabinets in the laundry room, it's a good idea to match the door style to your kitchen cabinetry. In Coohom, use the Material Brush Tool to copy the material from one cabinet to another.

Tip: Avoid clutter by opting for clean and minimalistic designs. Remove handles for a sleeker look, and use symmetry in door styles to maintain visual balance across all cabinets.
